Time in a BottleA Poem by hannahspelledbackwards"A faithful friend is the medicine of life." - Ecclesiastes 6:16If I could place my time in a bottle,
then maybe I would have enough. To live and breathe and move To never fear to love. And to the nights that are never forgotten, For they will always be cherished. But they were never given a bottle To decide how much time they were given. I could stay seventeen forever, Never change, never change. I would stay the same; we would all stay together Today and everyday. And to the days that I'll always remember, The ones filled with laughter, tears, and love. The ones that made us fight with anger, but we knew we'd eventually give up. If only I could place our time in a bottle, For I would make you all stay here with me. We'd create new memories and summers of life And the problem is no longer sleep. We'd stay up all night, Disrupting all in sight, We'd never leave each others' minds. But even if I could place my time in a bottle, It would eventually run out. After all the endless nights and days together, Fate will overcome doubt. And I promise I'll look back on the pictures And smile until the tears will shed. I'll remember all our fearless adventures That awakened the lives of the dead. Promise you won't forget our time, Despite the abundant lack of it. For I solemnly swear to all of you, My heart is with you, and forever you I will miss. © 2011 hannahspelledbackwardsAuthor's Note
