Forgotten

Forgotten

A Poem by hannahspelledbackwards
"

Never let you go.

"
Well, wherever you are,
Just know I'm thinking of you always.
I can't help but hold on to the hopeless dream of you -
Of us.

I can't shake these reminders
that constantly echo in the back of my mind.
Your name screams in my head like a beautiful song.
I swear I will meet you again;
it's the only string that ties me to sanity.

I could stare at the moon
And mentally list all the reasons you could relate to it.
I can't place my finger on any of it.
I can't figure myself out no matter how hard I try.

I know you've forgotten me,
trust me, I get it.
But what you don't get is how much you've affected
The deepest part of me . .

You changed me more than you will ever be known of.
I pray with every bit and part of everything
That is in me,
That I will gaze into the eyes that changed my life,

One last time.

"it's the only string that ties me to sanity." & "will gaze into the eyes that changed my life, One last time" : I cherish those two lines :)
beautifully written... The truthful and deep love is hard to erase, hard to forget and hard to let it go.
authentic and honest :)
