The Trees of Summer

The Trees of Summer

A Poem by hannahspelledbackwards
"

Love at first sight? Is it real, or is it fantasy?

"
It's as if God chose this special moment in time,
like a bird that learned how to fly,
and showed us all the reasons why
He miraculously placed us together.

I waited and waited forever it seemed,
I almost walked away from the scene,
until I saw you standing in front of me
and I looked into the eyes of fate.

No, I don't remember the shape or color,
all I do remember is how the others
somehow disappeared along with their utters,
that vanished from my mind completely.

You were all that I saw.
Your voice arose the morning dawn
that awakened me with a silent awe
which captivated who I didn't think I was.

Joking, laughter, and speechless words;
these actions were all I heard
from your lips that stirred
my heart and stomach until they dropped.

It was time for you to leave.
I was filled with joy from head to feet
when I realized we fulfilled the meet
that I dreamt about forever.

But as I replay the memory of that night,
I begin to smile and close my eyes
because God revealed to me His light
and glory that he shows to those who love Him.

I trust deep in my soul we will meet again,
but from now until then,
don't forget that night- when
we loved with our eyes under the trees of summer.
