From A Soft Summer's Drizzle

From A Soft Summer's Drizzle

A Poem by Chemical Kitten
"

I had to write a poem for my english II class, and it had to include ‘I use to be,’ and ‘But now I am,’ and here is the result. Short and simple.

"
I use to be a raindrop
Fallen in a soft summer's drizzle
Soaked up by the thirsty earth
So that spring's last flower's might prevail

But the wilted that I so longed to heal
They took advantage and they drained me dry
Until there wasn't hardly anything left
For my journey back to the clouds

But now I am a thunderstorm
Roaring and raging through the night
Without so much a second glace
At tiny wind-battered flowers

I'd really love any and all feedback on this if you've got the time. I didn't spend much time on it, and I didn't bother editing it before I turned in it, but after hearing my teacher's thoughts on it, I've begun to like it myself.

Your metaphor and imagery is amazing. That is pretty awesome. lol I loved this. It balanced out the happy and the sad perfectly and showed beauty within darkness. Good write. :) Keep it up!
