Temporary Medication

Temporary Medication

A Poem by Chemical Kitten

"This medicine is only to be used
When it hurt really bad."
I nod my head, I say "Okay,"
When the pain comes I swallow the pill
The world floats away

But only now it isn't physical
The pain lies in my heart
It is my eyes not wounds that leak
This time when I swallow the little pill
I know that I am weak

This is how I feel and probably why I overdosed in the past. :)

But the way I see it now, medicine does nothing but mask the pain. I would much rather have the pain take me over and know that when it is gone that is truly finished, than take a bunch of pills to mask it all and only think that the pain is gone when really it isn't.

I had to learn that the hard way and it really sucked but I know now that nature is life's only cure for pain. Tyr to heal naturally. :)

This poem was great. Got me to say something I Have never told anyone before. Loved it. You could even elaborate on the pain part. Lots more to talk of here. :)

Great write!!! :D

very good, the pain and reasons behind this poem resonates very well.

Very nice poem, the contrast between emotional and physical pain is described really well, how one pill can alleviate physical pain but not emotional pain.
