Highways

Highways

A Poem by Chemical Kitten

We could take to the highways
As the heavens fade to black
Count the constellations
And watch our hearts contract

You and me, we'll show them
Just how to disappear
You and me, we'll go
Where the night sky is clear

So breathe in the night air
Let it run through your veins
When you let it all go
Only freedom will remain

The night is always a magic time. It might be the time of freedom as well. I think it could be improved by not repeating the word night, but.... either way it's just a little detail. Maybe it can be there for some emphasis on the time, but you could say, breathe in the fresh air or something like that.

I really like the flow of this, and the image it paints in my mind. It kinda reminds me of Demolition lovers, only not as dark. It's quite beautiful.
