This Heart of Mine

Just a poem I wrote last night, June 22, 2010, at 3:30am because I couldn't sleep. :)

This Heart of Mine

 

When I cried, He laughed.

When I laughed, He cried.

When I was strong, He broke me down.

While I was down, He took my heart.

With my heart, He broke it into pieces.

With those fragile pieces, He smashed them to dust.

My heart was gone, But my love was strong.

My heart’s dust flies across the big sky,

Telling the story of the day it broke.

 

     I took his heart and did the same.

     My sour emotions got the best.

                                His heart disappeared without a trace.

                      This heart of mine puts itself back together,

           With the love of others.

           Not stealing, but sharing.

           For this heart of mine.
