Page 13A Chapter by InterijentoWritesElle was left in the field, confused and frustrated. Conley had stopped answering her, and he wasn’t much help right now anyways. There was always some reason why he couldn’t provide her with answers, or even guidance. That could have been because he wasn’t her true guardian angel. Or it may be because Conley was truly unconscious when he communicated with her, and wasn’t really aware of what was going on. He was a guardian angel; he just had never been assigned to Elle. She turned in the direction Conley’s last thought had come from; and she realized that even if she could assign a direction to it, it still didn’t help her. There was a barrier against the outside world. Magical beings inside couldn’t communicate with those on the outside, and vise versa. Though, somehow, Conley always broke that rule, and Elle had no idea how. What am I supposed to do? After another moment of standing in that field, Elle knew what to do; she knew whom she needed. Emily. Emily was Conley’s sister. Her and Elle had been great friends before Conley’s coma. As Elle made her way to Emily’s house, she wondered if Emily knew anything that had gone on. She, too, was a magical being. But Elle wondered how in touch she had been lately. Elle walked halfway across the magical world. As she did, she had a lot of time to think. She began to think of the relationships she had in the five years Elle and Conley had been together before the coma. Elle and Emily had been great friends. And even though Elle had betrayed Bryan, he stayed in her life. He and Emily had become lovers as well. Emily had decided to move into the real world, and work in a research lab to try and do whatever she could to help Conley’s condition. Now, Elle stood on the doorstep of a beautiful house. She rang the doorbell. Elle only knew where to go, because last year, Elle had heard that Emily had given up research. A tall, blonde woman answered the door, and her eyes widened, as though she was seeing a ghost. “Elizabeth?” The woman asked. Elle nodded. “Hi, Emily.” She said. Emily stepped out of the doorway and hugged Elle. She began to sob softly, and Elle rubbed her back comfortingly. “I missed you.” She cried. Elle nodded in understanding. “Ive missed you as well.” She said softly. Elle was on a mission; she couldn’t cry. She didn’t have time for the heart-felt reunion. After a moment, Emily stepped back. “Oh, dear. Come inside.” She said, waving her in. © 2012 InterijentoWrites |
