Playing Hard to GetA Poem by Catherine FrainBeating hearts matching the music, Alongside the flashing strobe lights. Heat, the smell of sweat fills the air. The desire to dance becomes overwhelming. Jumping inside the throbbing crowd, Bumping and jumping. Then there's the one. Twisting and turning across the Club's dance floor, breaking up dances. Then there she is the perfect one. She frowned, as you tried to touch her. Soon two large guys joined her. Ducking, you avoided a punch to the eye. You snarled with anger, pushing her away. "I never wanted you anyway." © 2017 Catherine Frain |
