Forest Secrets

Forest Secrets

A Poem by Catherine Frain

Blinding light fills the sky,

illuminating the forest below.

From above it appears to be

vivid green clouds.

Below all the leaf filled branches,

shows a different world.

Birds soar through branches,

their songs echoing.

Squirrels ran rampant through leaves,

chattering with each other.

Chasing each other’s tails,

a giant game of tag to last hours.

Rivers flow through the trees,

course slow but mighty.

Animals line its banks,

to dip their heads for a drink.
