A Year Ago

If you told me a year ago,

that I would be alone and miserable-

my heart seeking for a true love once more,

I would have told you that-

you had no idea what you were talking about.

If you told me a year ago,

A number of heart aches and breaks,

that would have occurred over a few select words-

I would have told you that you had to be crazy.

If you told me a year ago,

A number of tears that would fall from heartbreak,

I would have told you that-

you had no reason to make such a statement.

If you told me a year ago,

that this was what was in my future-

I would have told you that maybe it was possible.
