Life's freedom isn't free

Life's freedom isn't free

A Poem by Catherine Frain

They say that life is so easy and free.
Alas they do not know the truth.
Just give me a reason of sanity,
to explain this hair-brained claim.

Our freedom is not even free,
people's blood is spilled.
The drops constantly
dripping loudly on the roof of life.

Red roses are just a reminder,
white stained from too much pain.

Innocence lost among the years,
too many tears fallen in the face of fear.
Even the sky cries for
our young fallen warriors.

What makes you think that
life is easy-going and free.
It isn't.

Isn't the news enough to tell you that?
