What would we truly be

What would we truly be

A Poem by Catherine Frain

They say that the loneliest people,
cry the most tears and that
those tears are what makes them stronger.

They say that the kindest people,
have suffered the most in their lives, and that
those experiences make them who they are.

I say that people who have seen too much of the world,
have the most to become stronger and kinder with.
They have seen the worst but also the best of humanity.

The fact is,
everyone no matter what they have faced-
are able to become stronger and kinder.

Focus on the path of life,
with the force of humanity behind you.

Without the backbone of humanity,
what are we truly?
