Times

Times

A Poem by Catherine Frain

Times goes by- erasing, creating.
As time goes by it erases memories,
but also creates good and bad ones.

There are points in this period,
where one wishes to pauses times,
to rewind the times, to better times,
but time is not one to be controlled.

Letters that used to form,
the conversations between us,
became bruised and broken.

The hugs and smiles, we shared-
became ghosts of the past.

Now I can’t help but smiling,
at the memories we shared.

The hours of conversations between us,
filled my hearts with joyous flutters.
You were always there for me.
Now, these conversations are buried beneath the rubble.

I stand before you mute.
I stand before you unemotional.
I stand before you too scare to talk.
I stand before you wishing time were to go back.

I sometimes wish that time-
could somehow go back to
our period of devoted love.

Time- a wonderful, complicated thing.
Erasing yet creating.
