Unwelcomed Knowledge

A Poem by Blue Halcyon

This shock in which I drown, a sea of lies…
These fiercely cold vicissitudes threaten me
Now blurring this strange world before my eyes,
A grim illusion I can never flee.
My fingers raw from digging for sly truths,
The world now scrubbed by my sorrowful stare
And hearing sharpened for unspoken clues
My mind paints pictures of dreaded despair.
What sways others to divert from their course?
To turn away from Honesty’s decrees
And build a life of infinite remorse
While bringing the innocent to their knees….
Their only passage to Salvation’s road
Is repentance with forgiveness bestowed.

Great work.. love the part:

This shock in which I drown, a sea of lies
These fiercely cold vicissitudes threaten me
Now blurring this strange world before my eyes,
A grim illusion I can never flee.

It's always nice to see some colourful words used in poetry.. vicissitudes is not used very often and it prompts one to look up the meaning of a new word.. keep writing as there is true wisdom and depth to your writing!
