Broken Shackles

Broken Shackles

A Poem by Mark
"

Sometimes a person can be redeemed in love I think. at least, I'd like to believe it.

"

Golden rays with power to blind.
Giants of stone bending the light.
Your silouette hiding your eyes,
I watch the sun stream around and
from behind your head.

Bent light touches your hair
forming shapes.

In the morning misty cool air
I see the dream I once had
then forgot, now before
me shadowed by a new Sun.

You are the one to set me straight.
I am the one who is your fate.
We stand together and we know
now is the time...
never to be alone.

I felt the tug on a heart grown sore
I was the rug near the foot stomped door
Then you came, and I felt ashamed
I watched as you pulled me from the floor.

I stand in awe, I pray in grateful streams
to a reality between universal seams.
I can't believe you really picked me,
Marked in shackles, my wrists now free.

You are the one, me and you.
I had fallen, now whole and true.
Together we clasp and we know
in our time...
never again alone.

I believe second chances are possible, especially if two are willing to forgive and support each other during those troubled times. This is a lovely write for your loved one, a heartfelt open expression. Wonderful!

I like the way you described the journey to understanding love. I like the way you put two people together. Create a love where two people became one. I like the positive ending to the outstanding poetry.

What a beautiful tribute to love..to find someone who sees you perhaps not at your very best and still loves you for who and what you are is perhaps the most observant form of love. So very well crafted..I enjoyed this read very much
