Insomnia

Insomnia

A Poem by Mark
"

sometimes they bang loudly until I let them out :)

"
Words beat against the door of my mind.
'Wake!', 'Write!' they say.
I struggle in bed,
tossing and turning.
I'm tired, I want sleep.

Still the words pound
and keep me awake.
'Write!' they shout.
I sigh and get up.
I shuffle to my computer,
turn it on,
yawn,
and write.

Great flow and tempo. I have insomnia as well... it's quite the pain isn't it?

As long as naps exist it isn't so bad. :) Thanks for the review.

Yes but really, who has the time for those? :)

Priorities :)
Oh, yes...I understand this. My bed is often covered with notebooks and a pen so that I can scribble in the dark. This can prove quite a mess when I have to decipher my own scribblings but I try to space them out! :) No writer wants to let that one great thought get away. The words are sometimes like dreams and if you don't catch onto them they vanish. I liked this...you are not alone, dear writer.

Mark - A brilliantly paced poem.

As a chronic insomniac, I totally understand the buzzing pain of being awoken at all hours by a brain that can't keep time! Although the poem looks a tad strangely proportioned, once you're reading it it flows very well, and I enjoyed reading it.

Thank you :)

Powerful will to write! I would have rolled over and covered my head with a blanket...
