Correctness

Correctness

A Poem by Mark
"

Once it was about religion. Today it's about political rightness.

"
In those dark days of correctness
Birthed dirty and blood covered from the
Puritanical kings and queens of yesterday's thought controllers

Ye cannot conceive of where, let alone to leave
It is with us, and you agins'
We will tell you what you can say
Or we will put you away.

Hold down the armour and pierce the front lobes with our songs
sad and vengeful
For we are the keepers of rightness the political darkness you are not allowed to light
The fervent pointers at all we say is wrong and phobic.
You will follow what we define as the light or be shamed to oblivion in the names only we are allowed to use.

I agree Mark. Seem, we are falling to the old ways.

The above statement. Hard to know the truth from a lie. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

I like this a lot, what with me being as subtle as cancer when it comes to PC.
If someone tells you there name and label on meeting, RUN. Anyone who defines themselves is not for the trusting, surely others should be the judge of what we are through our actions. Instead, we get manipulated into thinking and accepting the latest trend, fearful of speaking out for fear of being hashtagged to death.
Think for ourselves and stick labels where they belong, in the bin.
Great write.

Maybe we should start #Labelphobic trending 😀
and if you disagree with the politics currently sitting in office these days, you are not Patriotic...
damn...don't we fight for the freedom of religion, of speech...of being able to disagree.
Correctness shoved down our throats is not the way to keep us on a straight road.
excellent piece..

Speaks to the cancel culture mentality of the internet these days. If you veer from the approved line you are shamed to damnation. Expect more of this as the 2020 election draws nigh.

Yeah, spot on. They may sing different songs and wear different clothes, but nothing has really changed; they're still the same kind of selfish and power hungry dirt bags they always were.
