Story

A Poem by Mark

Sitting around while the cave light sang
old man gray in the beard
paints his pictures with a voice
practiced in the arts of creation.

"Once, far far away..."

The story; of filled lives
hope, glory, pain and despair
Rising above, held down
by evil and the darkness.

Triumph, revenge,
forgiveness and yes, the crown jewel
of all....

Love.

The old man lowers his arms slowly
his audience enthralled
to tears, not at the emotions
he invoked,
but rather, that now it is ended;
sadness that the story is done.

Thank you for reading.
A bittersweet telling of life and its inevitable aging, so much beauty and so much loss.

(maybe a typo in the last line?)
