Keep Me Cold

Keep Me Cold

A Poem by Mark

Hold in the rage
cold and blue
run into my core
Threatening to shard.
I feel no pain
there is no sun
only cold and blue
threatening to expand.
I lost my soul
such a long time ago
replaced by this ice
threatening your heat.
I will swallow up;
freeze the pain
I'll pierce this world
with my frozen rain.
I won't keep inside
any longer this
dark blue rage
threatening to burst.
Where once love flowed
Now is crystal prison
cracked and bowed
I will coldly fission.
I let it go.

This poem is deep. I like it. Coming from one who does not enjoy the cold, and lives in Alaska, I sometimes consider the cold to be an inspiration. Cheers. :)

Gripping on a slippery surface at times becomes so very tedious and tiring. Letting go is sometimes the only option.

Very nice Mark.

Thanks Jack :)
And so comes the release...the exhalation and then the rebirth...takes a while to reform and let the sun in again and this is powerfully spoken hon xox

Intense lines, Mark. I've watched the movie and it's really good. Your poem chilled me somehow. :)

I will have to try and warm you. Thanks for reading.
Lots of rough emotions come to light here. Tripped over 'threatening to shard'.

Nice if you can just let it go...

What I enjoy here is the strong, extended metaphor, kept alive with poetic quality..

This Mark appears to be an expression of emptiness and the anger that builds when one feels unfulfilled and abandoned by life.
