Where ?

Where ?

A Poem by Mark
"

listen to the song

"
I tried seeing the world in a pair of
me and you.
You looked like mine, you looked so fine
but it was all smoke and mirror.

Life gave me lemons and I got
tired of lemonade.
Drops of sweat in my cup
tasted bitter and suited me more.

Only the clouds soothe me
making me sheets of drenching wet,
a faded projection of you
flickering on the rain.

You twirl in strobed holography
flickering body and laugh.
Subtly sexy and clearly
honestly, lovingly mine.

What I wanted to see
all I ever wanted for me
was the version of you
I had in a dream.

All I can do is keep trudging
with the love I have;
family, friends
people I barely know.

I hope someday
you'll step from the rain, smiling,
and entwine your fingers in mine
And then we can go home.

I like the above lines. Some folks don't want to know real happiness. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I wonder can anyone ever live up to our dreams. This was a wonderfully romantic poem of longing. Loved that last stanza.

Yes that ideal is tragic. Thanks.
I knew you could do it Mark, this is beautiful.

This stanza stuck out for me and as you already know the song for me is very relatable. You have the jackpot with this utterly breathtaking poem. :-)

Loved it so much.
