Sky

Sky

A Poem by Mark

I never could touch
that blue and white illusion
so impossibly far.

But I have touched the Earth,
many times, getting dirty hands
from Mother's touch.

And I'll never stop dreaming
imagining the sky feels like
the water, cool and clean.

I will believe and close my eyes
to see blue and white wash
over me.

The stars stop dancing on their
black stage, and stare at me
laughing where rain is made.

I never could touch the sky
but my faith wills me and
I am happy as I dance with you there.

This is such a soulful melody in verse. It is sad and yet beautiful at one and the same time.

Thank you my friend :)
Mark. this reminds me of when as a child. After a hard rain there would be large puddles, reflecting the clouds. I would spend all play time walking those clouds..
What a beauty of a write and thank you for the smiles !

Thank you for stopping by! I"m glad you liked.
So lovely! I wonder what it does feel like...soft marshmallows and cobwebs, lol See, got me thinking, and yet, the last stanza suggests much more to just the sky...beautiful hon x

Thanks Poppy, and yes, it's a story about faith and imagination.
Because of the title, I'd cut "the sky" from the first stanza. Add a comma after "And I'll never stop dreaming" Thanks for sharing!
