Storms, Oceans, and Love

Storms, Oceans, and Love

A Poem by Mark
"

Just a fictional write.

"
I felt the storm coming;
raising the color in my eyes.
It was dark and gray lonely,
rushing headlong through the skies.
There was lightning, there was rain
and the air smelled freshly showered.
Thunder rumbling through in pain;
I felt the storm.
Looking west I saw you painted on the sky.
I looked to see if you saw me
as the storm rushed you on by.
But then you were gone, moved on.
Rain drenching me to the skin
Restoring in steam, what I know.
Clean, and never again this fresh
Sun and clouds beam, creating steam below
Love is an ocean pent up each inside.
Some never find it and so never learn
Others can't keep back that holy tide;
when it's coming... they feel the storm.
I might have felt outdrawn
but I swim in my own design
What we never had at all
Doesn't matter, I'll be fine.
And when the clouds come define
and the gray black rolls me over
I'll feel my love aligned
by white streaks of lightning.

Thanks Leslie, always good to see your reviews. :)
This was actually really good! I loved how the storm expressed the emotion of the person.
Check out my stories if you please, when you have the time. I've posted one so far. A romance of course.

I rarely read stories. You can send me an RR if you wish.
Exquisite writing. I saw you painted in the sky. Love that line. Love the whole metaphor of water and rain and lightning. Such a strong poem.

Mark! Now this is poetry. I could feel a letting go in your words. It feels like you just let these words tear through you, just like that storm raged through. Very well done. Angi~

I'm glad you liked, thanks for reading :)
I love the heart in this piece; the texture of rawness and emotion is truly palpable. Great use of imagery and language to guide your concept along from start to finish.

I'll feel my love aligned
by white streaks of lightning. -- these lines were really great.

This piece was the manifestation of an inevitable storm...the most destructive forces can also be the most touching and most beautiful. Well done.

Beauty and destruction. Funny how those two concepts come in one package so often. Thank you :)
