Meh

Meh

A Poem by Mark
"

Angst could be my middle name

"
That four square edge
blunted in 'meh'.

What care, when dared,
doesn't eventually disappear?

Mired in emotional mud
My tires of inspiration are sunk

Wet and muddied, bloodied and stuck
Planks of "I don't care" don't help.

With images from a pained scarred heart
This seeker winds down into the old.

Perhaps the next hill, when the sun rises again?
Someone to break the chains of my memories.

A glimpse of Sun watering the eyes
Show me my mirage; and leave me, again, alone.

Been there, done that, rolled around and stayed in that spot for way too long. If I allow myself to sit with thoughts too long, I could easily get right back to that place when the air was sucked away.
This is vivid and palpable - and I do think we breathe again ... I'm just a stubborn sort :)

Never thought of 'meh' as angst, more like who gives a ff...but I like how you wrap your pen around this one Mark....muchly enjoyed.

I guess it's kinda both here. or maybe just becoming tired of angst. :)
Angst is one of the few German words that has made it worldwide, along with Kindergarten and Rucksack,
an undefined feeling of fear with no obvious reason...and this excellent poem captures the word and
feeling exactly...

Now and again, sometimes too often, Life hits between the eyes, causes such sadness and those three words ''I don't care' mean the exact and more opposite. But, time comes when tears dilute the worst and the sun emerges.. again. Perhaps? There's such a loneliness in these words.

Thank you MB, if I can write something that people empathize with, I consider it a job done well. :)
Planks of "I don't care" don't help.

But we do care; that's the problem. Sometimes we just need a rest. Liking the alliteration. Good one.

Yes, it's certainly not a constant but simply moments in a life. Thanks for reading :)
