This Time

This Time

A Poem by Mark
"

A blues lyric

"
I looked into those eyes
and I refused to let it shine.
you and I go down
that road too many time.
Oh, I felt my heart crispin'
I walked away in lies.
I knew I was deceivin'
Why would you change my mind?
Just look my way again
and I know I'll fall this time.
Oh just look my way once more
and I won't need any other sign.
Fallin' for you baby
is like drinkin' bitter wine.
Ya I fell hard but maybe
there's good in what we find.
I looked into your eyes
and I fell out of my mind.
Ya, you and I got down
and I pretend now that I'm fine.
Walkin' away now baby
don't try and pretend you're kind.
I know you're bad and lonely
And I won't be  a wastin' time.
Fallin' for you baby
is like drinkin' bitter wine.
Fallin' for you but maybe
I won't hit my head this time.

You know what? I was just gonna say this was a fine bluesy lyric piece and then I looked at your description and smacked my forehead. Have you met me? I am Captain Obvious!
I like the grit this one has - indicative of the genre - there is a strength in the heartache. Yeah, you kicked the crap out of me and it hurt but I am not incapacitated kind of thing. I like the repetitive elements in this as well.

I like your use of colloquialisms and your captive stance, very well done!

Great lyrics. I love the bit about falling for you being like bitter wine. since love is both intoxicating and in this case, horrible at the same time.

Should anything be sad about this piece other than reenactment and adding it to favourites? I am guessing here help me out ;)
