Another Night

Another Night

A Poem by Mark

Another word, another sight,
 another night caught me breathing.
I wish I could see the stars,
hear their song to me.

Your clouds wall them out
How they can be so sharp I don't know but
they know where to make me bleed,
Like you.

The Moon comes through
I see her tears
and answer.

Venus comes with Mars
bright and dull prayers
 through the wall.

Why would I?
chances like that
are  dandelions thrown,
expecting to hit the stars.

A hole opens around the moon
I see them twinkling, laughing
Asking me why I would bother.

It's interesting, this feeling that even the galaxies--and as such, by extension, fate (the cosmos), are mocking you (although the moon, like a mother, seems empathetic). And this woman has become part of those, OF them--because what the man in this story believes she has, is all of the mysteries of the former, and with them, a healing salve, that may even mend the past. It's nice. I don't have to agree with his pov to see that.

Like this, especially the use of would in the last line, the verb here implies intention instead of the more duty backed should, so the perfect usage. And nice one-lined tercets in the middle. Lots to like here
