I am so grateful for the heaven, the stars

To grab hold of all of it, I strive

It's so fateful, who I am and you are,

This bright moment, I know I'm  alive

I need a fire to douse the heat of my heart

I couldn't keep it from falling apart

I let it go, and I need you to know...

I am so grateful.

I am so grateful for the moment you were

It was the joy and it was the pain

I am so grateful for blue sky and rain

don't have to pray for what I once craved.

But I am grateful we had our time

It's all I needed, I want you to know.

For a moment I held it all 

grasping at air, I watched it all go

The sorrow burned like the heat of a star

Nova'd out now, the white bleeded my soul

I am so grateful I have these words

All that I  needed, already occurred

I am so grateful I am able to want

Blue sky and rain, the day and the dark.

haphazard rhyming I know, but it just fit ... in my head anyway. :P
