A couple

A couple

A Poem by Mark
"

Something I wrote in 2010 about someone special that will always be special.

"
Was it me, was it you?
Did the days get away,
or did we simply get lost,
lost in our play?
I would give, I would bleed
I would carve in a seed
what our love would do
and plant it; a tree for you.
I remember what I was
what I listened to
Where I went and
the words I spoke to you...
Think of the tree
we would have now;
tall, strong, beautiful green
but I got us lost, and I grieve.
but whatever road I have left,
Whatever stars still shine on my path,
come with me, walk and hold my hand.
we will make the days we have left, grand.

hard to go back home, what was is not the same today, but live and do, do and live, give open spread your heart wide strong maybe the beat will bring a drummer to remind her of your hand alive and warm ready to stop and stand together, Partners in life.

Mark, this is amazing...I love it.
"Think of the tree

There is so much emotion in this poem. It breaks my heart that the love was lost.
Is it even possible to make the best of the time left, when you both know it's going nowhere slowly? Isn't that just torture?

So not all love was lost, that good :) I'm glad to hear that!
Hi Mark, This is very sad and once again I have been there! You set it out so sympatheticaly with a certain gentle pathos. It is still a poem about love, love lost or let go. I guess the truth is human relationships are complex and all the more so when you experience multiple disappointments. Well written.

Thanks John, it's good to know it's not just me, even though it's misery LOL
liked it very much...at first he wonders who was to blame...was it me, was it you?...then takes the blame, and is full of regret,,,,but i got us lost, and i grieve. then holds his hand out to his love, offering the chance for fulfillment and happiness. very well crafted, mark.

Thank you :)
That was heart-touching in its beautiful portrait of lost love. Made my heart melt. You find that lost love and say those words to her and you will find her hand in yours in a heartbeat. I cannot tewll you how lovely I found this... the seed and the tree... good grief, I had no idea I was such a romantic... I'm sitting here hoping and praying all such lost loves find each other again...
