![]() Escapes MeA Poem by Mark![]() I was walking this morning, and it was hot! I lost my handkerchief that I'd stuck in my back pocket. Thinking about escape, and love, this just popped out and I wrote while cooling off in Starbuck's![]() Another sear day in Houston The heat, it warms my soul Making me feel less alone In the heat I forget I'm not whole. I won't lie, I have tried but Lonely won't let me be Oh love must hate me, because love still escapes me. I move on, my boots sounding half the steps that should be there. If I get to, I'd pay whatever it cost I'd walk til I drop, tired and lost. But I won't lie, maybe I'll still try Even though love must hate me Because still, Love always escapes me. When evening falls the sun giving way to the moon, The dark and cold, my friends of old Return to me way too soon. I sleep and I dream, but it seems that love still hates me. Because love... love escapes me. and another sun will come another new day begun, another added to my sum. Another chance to be won. Oh I won't lie, I will still try Even though love must hate me. Because love, oh love.. always escapes me.
