Rain of Love
A Poem by Insight "MH"
The rain of my love
Will fall on your dying tree Draining sweet sensation
In veins of emotion deep under Nourishing the heartwood
With sparks of incandescent hope Carving your pith with
The imperishable name of love Soothing leaves in moist
By the tenderness of verse To breath words of my voice Echoing in you, constantly Embracing your branches
In care unharming nests Where feelings rest,
Not being alarmed
By my squeezing chest Protecting your precious stem
From treacherous carving knives Tempting to distort you
As they did to pure lives See me......! I am here.....! Being your spring in winter
Being your warmth in cold Loving you, till the last oak tree withstands

This is a mind-blowing poem for a weird bird like me. I've never fit into the typical mold & it's hard to find people who can embrace another fully without that pesky human tendency to pressure one to conform to one's own way. This poem is remarkable becuz of how much fertile tangible sensory digging is done, as well as becuz this invasive sort of embracing is purely to appreciate & know, but also honoring the natural & necessary separateness. I do much nature writing, but I hardly ever imbue it with so many layers of meaning/sensation (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I used a tree pic in front of me and challenged myself to use it in a love poem as a metaphor, I went back and forth looking for words that I didn't know before and I tried my best to use words all linked to the tree and nature. My other poems are not as good as this one I believe cause the other one's were written mostly in the same day and posted. Thank you for showing so much appreciation for this, ”HUGS”, MH.

When I "sleep" on a poem & go back to it for a bit, it's always much better, but I'm too impulsive & impatient to get on to the next thing. I usually hate love poems, which is one reason I'm in awe of anyone who can make me love a love poem!
