She laid in bed not able to sleep. A nocturnal life she seemed to adapt to with a side of insomnia. Thoughts always seemed to prance through her head making relaxing sometimes an uneasy task. Wishing he would come to bed to make her feel more comfortable she continues to lay with now music blasting in her ears. Hoping to catch a break of the sick twisted feeling in her stomach. Deep in her heart she knew something was wrong. He always came to bed but recently he was falling asleep on the couch. Or so she thought. Staring at the time the clock moves slowly. Getting up for work was going to be a nightmare but she knew work was her only outlet and chance to keep busy. She shuts her eyes. The alarm she she set hours ago awakes her. Barley any sleep she turns over to shut it off. He is not beside her. Tears fall from her eyes as she walks barefoot on the cold hard wood floor into the bathroom to shower. She strips herself of her clothes while running warm water in hopes of the shower will make her feel better. There she stands naked looking in the mirror at herself. She wonders why the feeling in her stomach keeps getting worse. Tear drops falling steady from her eyes run down her breasts and stomach as she gets in the shower. The warm water soaking her hair, hiding her tears. She lets the steam fill the room. He walks in the bathroom and mutters good morning. Hiding behind the shower curtain holding on to the wall she softly replies back the same. She bites her lip. Questions on the tip of her tongue wanting answers but she does not make a sound. The water runs down her body as the stream hits her face. Her eyes shut tight as she takes a deep breath. Staying in the shower a little longer hoping the stress and uneasy feeling in her stomach will subside for awhile. He returns to the bathroom asking what time she is going to be working till. Responding to his question in the saddest voice with the time that she will be returning while now looking right into his eyes. She knows something is wrong. He looks like he had seen a ghost. The half smile he gives her as he shuts the door gave her the chills. Something is not right at all and she does not want to find out in fear of once again pain taking over her happiness that she had finally got back. Her wet body now wrapped in a towel she walks to their room leaving wet foot prints on the floor and drops of water from her soaked hair. She shivers from the draft coming from the old window in the room as she lays naked back in bed. Work is the last thing on her mind as she grabs her phone to call off. Her body still wet and cold she grabs a blanket to cover up. Falling into a deep sleep. She was sure this was all just a nightmare and everything was okay. She was very wrong.
