Anything For You

Anything For You

A Poem by Alecz

A lonely little girl,
She holds herself up.
It's been, like this, for years;
Until this baby man is born.
He's brought into her life,
She struggles, and she cries.
Lies he's always told her,
His response, "I'd do anything for you."
Still, the relationship fails,
Living off of alcohol.
Her kids are here for her,
Yet, they're the ones suffering.
Is this fair?
The kids are lonely, now.
Their mother has gone.
Caught up with this a*****e,
His only evidence, are his words.
"I'd do anything, for you." He says, once more.
When his lies get the best of her,
She leaves, once again.
Only to return,
claiming she loves him.
Is this fair?
"We'd do anything, for you," her children plead.
Only to push them aside,
And choose the one who lies throughout his lips.
