This Shuttering Heart

This Shuttering Heart

A Poem by Alecz

A day passes by
Where I have been pounding this heart into my chest.

It has been gone,
They have torn it,
Shredding it to pieces.

I find you in a crowded space,
So lonely.

It was you.
You of all people that caught my eye.

You were the light in the darkness.
You were the eye of the storm.

I have found you.

I feel my eyelids get heavy.
Is this just a dream?
Someone, please, pinch me.

My heart...
It has mended.
Yet, melting, into a puddle.

Running towards the light,
You're at the end of the tunnel.

My savior...
My one and only.

I grasp at you,
Holding you in my arms.
This smile can not fade.
I love this feeling.

The one I've been looking for.
My angel.
My heaven.
Redemption.

Yes, I've finally found this.
