Behind Your Mask

Behind Your Mask

A Poem by Kristin
"

"

He walks into the room

Graceful as a swan

He passes everyone

Before the night begun

The party begins to rise

As the music tends to slow

He turns around to face her

And swears it's time to go

Asking for a dance

She hesitates to start

He bows and she will curtsey

Smile here to never part

They waltz as the light shines

But neither notice as their eyes lock

The mask behind his perfect face

Instruments end as they begin to walk

Behind that mask

She waits for him to reveal

Behind that face

A heart he will steal

He smiles at her slowly

Her heart beats for him

As he takes the hidden mask off

The light begins to dim

Light can not penetrate

Light can not grow

He hastely runs away

And so she'll never know..

This is very well put together. I really enjoy the simple rhyme in it, it sounds natural and not forced. It's just a very nicely crafted, good flowing poem. I'll be sure to read more of yours. :]
