Fighting For Them

Fighting For Them

A Poem by Kristin

Giving up is not an option today
Fighting for them if I may
Staying strong through the devil’s clutch
Left to feel their hopeful touch
Looking away and standing still
The cards of the joker’s wrath, ready to kill
Running to attack
Here we are back to back
Closing eyes to think ahead
Never to again be misled
Figuring out the next move of the foe
Here they are then they go
Never to once regret the next fighting pose
Battle arena, a lifeless rose
Heart of the forgiving solider in us
Tantrums fuss
Over the children who frolic and play
Fighting the tears out of our way
Through the wind and my eyes
I’ll fly forgetting all my cries
I’ll fight for them all
Hearing my own mother’s call
A shadow stalks the unbreakable vow of mine
No longer claming a sign
Disappearing with the fists of my memories lives
Husbands calling to their own wives
Never to lose your sense of wonder and speed
Never to obtain a hollow weed
For I won’t be blown away into the air’s non sense of a rejected moon
For I’m the one to fight for them, my own journey to follow soon
For he is the one I’ll hold tight
She’ll be the one who I’ll never lose sight
My last attack, shall be the last I’ll ever make
My fighting stance, the last move for them, the strongest move for their sake
