Lazy Early Mornings

Lazy Early Mornings

A Poem by Inner Rain

Noises fill the air
As the winter chill wastes away
Tangles in my hair
As i lounge around all day

There is nothing to do
"Nothing to be done"
Nothing intricate or new
Or a pocketful of fun

The birds dance
The winds are singing
As i take a solemn glance
At the world and it's doings

There is news in the early morning paper, but none worth of note
So i sit and sip my peppermint tea, neglecting my winter coat

Noises fill the air
As the winter chill wastes away
Tangles in my hair
As i lounge around all day

There is nothing to see
Nothing to feel
I sit all day
With my hand on my knee
Another long day comes
As i stay at home with me

Nothing to feel
Nothing to see
Only to sleep
And only to read

I can feel it and experience it as I read...vivid view of a day of nothingness

I read this feeling all fuzzy and comfy, it's easy-reading and jazzy lyrical and I like this inner rain. Early morning is pretty magical indeed.

I treasure those lazy nothing to do days because during the week work is killing me. Sometimes it is true peace to have days like this but if it is too many of them in a row it can drive one in sane with boredom. Only so much reading can be entertaining after awhile some diversion is needed. This was an excellent write about nothing and about everything all at once.
