Air & FireA Poem by Inner Rain10/11/10
You are the air i breathe
I am the fiery tongue you taste To survive, a proud fire must feed On the humble air with no face Flames exhaust the air around it Yet the air silently gives itself till consumed She refuses to leave the world unlit So she willingly burns without a wound He does not know that i am here He burns so brightly he blinds his own eyes Flaming without a feeble fear Burning feverishly not hearing any cries I want to be the light Keep him burning with my might I do not breathe, but i will survive Keeping him always alive © 2010 Inner Rain |
