The Pieces Of Me

The Pieces Of Me

A Poem by Inner Rain
"

A Rondeau!

"

My wit-broken heart has been changed today
Into bright night, changed was my dullest day
At the sight of your smile i was smitten
My burnt-broken tale, a smile rewritten
I wave at you as you now skip away

Life is now an all-you-can-eat buffet
Nothing i could have done to make you stay
What was amorously love-bitten?
The pieces of me.

Oh, i wait for you to sail in the bay,
Steering the harsh sea; i write in the café
Sitting, thinking, patting our little kitten
Numerous lines, stay overwritten
What do you bring back with the ocean-spray?
The pieces of me.
