Shooting Stars

Shooting Stars

A Poem by Inner Rain

Once upon a night such as this
The stars echoed in the sky
And they sang at the bottom of my abyss
As they broke through the corner of my eye

They danced and pranced with vain
I forced myself to look no more
They were joyously mocking my pain
A million murderous fathoms into my heart's core

"Hahaha! Heeheehee!"
Is what those jewels sang with glee
"Hahaha! Heeheehee!"
With only the intention of torturing me

All night they sang their vile symphony
All night they blinded my ears
But in the middle of a crowd, i felt ever so alone
Gone was the hand that kissed away my tears

"Hahaha! Heeheehee!"
They sang with the buzzing sound of a bee
"Hahaha! Heeheehee!"
Blinded by their laughter, i could no longer see

Even in blindness, they twinkled through me
Still in blindness, they still shone bright
Even in my deafness, the echoed in my soul with glee
Still in my deafness, they sang with a venomous bite

"Shan't they stop?" i sang in my head
"No we shan't." they played back in my detriment
"No!" they couldn't have heard what i have said!
"We may be stars, but we are not deaf." was their statement

First they sang through my eyes
Now they talk to my whimpering heart
Someone stop them before my sanity dies
Before my soundness-of-mind decides to depart

Shot at the stars i did the next night
"Leave me alone you cursed treasures!"
Screamed silently i did night after night
"Go! Leave my own song to love me!"

Night, after night, after night, after night
They remained in that treacherous dark
Night, after night, after night, after night
To them, singing my misery was a walk in the park

"Hahaha! Heeheehee!"
"We shall never leave!"
"Hahaha! Heeheehee!"
To shoot them down, i had the need

First i brought out a bow and arrow
Now i was shooting those diamond ducks!
One by one they plunge in a row
They will crush my head it it is my luck

"Hahaha! Heeheehee!"
"Here we come sprouting back; one, two, three!"
"Hahaha! Heeheehee!"
New ones take the place of the fallen, never will they let me be!

Amazing.......i liked the rhyme and rhythm of it. Its pure fantasy that is well expressed. Good job.
