Venom FlowerA Poem by Inner RainA French SonnetPetals paler than fangs of deep snow white Green leaves finer than silver skin peels To its beauty do the flowers awe kneel With fear of its rare and venomous bite Its vile tyranny is more than polite Say what she wishes to hear, show appeal Or her poison on your neck you will feel Don't kitten with her for even one night She puts on a mask during the bright day Sheds at night, invites you her buffet With white knife and fork, you will be caressed Refuse all gifts she will seduce you with Keep your garments on, refuse to egress Facts have been stated, she lives, not stale myth © 2009 Inner Rain |
