Not Enough

Not Enough

A Poem by Inner Rain
"

A Keats Sonnet

"

My eyes are trapped
Trapped looking at you, a stranger
I want to go back to not knowing you at all

Many years i have spent in a box, wrapped
Unaware of a great many dangers
Not knowing, my worst pain will be you

You picked me up, you let me fall
You came, and i was unwrapped
And surrendered me to a ranger

To the floor you shoved me, made me crawl
You used to make me feel shiny and new
Made me believe in all kids-stuff

Among all, why did it have to be you?
All my love wasn't enough!

This reminds me of Denise Levertov's "Adam's Complaint". Sadly, nothing seems enough----even love. I enjoyed this.

Oh God ,how sweet, just so lovely
I was trapped looking at you ,you stranger, want to go back to not knowing you at all
Years I was in a box trapped, unaware of dangers, not knowing you will be my worst pain
You picked me up ,then let me fall, you came ,i was unwrapped, you took your chance
You shoved me to floor ,made me crawl,Used to make me shiny and new
Made me believe even in magic,Among all why did it have to be you
Was all my love never enough,so you have to hit on me
