Flickering Candle

Flickering Candle

A Poem by Inner Rain
"

An Shakespearean Sonnet

"

A single candle all alone
Shining like a lone star in the sky
By the wind it was almost blown
Almost did it say goodbye

A hand reaches to feel its warmness
Stayed too long did those fingers
And that heat turned the hand to bitterness
Never shall it return to even linger

Who was this candle?
All so alone, but yet giving the world so much light
A world with problems a single person cant handle
But she still shown to make each day more bright

Struggling in the world to leave her mark
Like a flickering candle in the dark
