In My Starless Night

In My Starless Night

A Poem by Inner Rain

In my nightmares
I wake without you there
In these eyes
This really doesn't seem fair

I sleep at night
At least I really try
In this mind
You were my starry sky

The night is black
Without a star in sight
I feel this lack
For your star in the sky

I gaze into the dark
On a starless night
I hear the dogs bark
So I turn on the light

I rush down the stairs
With stars in my eyes
I need to know your there
Before my hope dies

The night is empty
And so is my heart
Yet it feels so heavy
To know we're still apart

You were my star
On a starless night
Always ready to fight
Always showing me a light

I really like this! I think the word star is a bit overused though. Hope I helped!

Oh, I love this! My heart is breaking with this poem! Really good powerful stuff!
It totally represents the lost love and the hopelessness you feel when its gone.
Again, totally love this!
