While

While

A Poem by Daywalker
"

Something I wrote during class because I was bored in Algebra :P

"

While the trouble things haunt this world
I walk down the street slowly
Hush
Hear the wind
Hear the bird song in the wind
Hear the panic in the song
Shadows grow long in the never ending hours
As pools of thoughts flood your mind
You walk as well
Like I do
You talk aswell
Like I do
Yet we've never met
In this funny world of procrastinators
And do goods
In this dome of color
I search for the man with the mask
That creeps silently through my dreams
So gentle
And I search for things no one else notices
Like the empty pots on your doorstep
That collect your growing hopes
Or the dandelion that flowers fuzzy seeds
And teaches those seeds to kill
I search for the voice in the dogs eye
I search for fantacy in the world of non fiction
I see stars
I see moon
I see your face while you read my story
Taken aback quietly inside
Full of emotion gone unnoticed
I see far away from here
A child sleeping now
I see her dreams
I see her nightmeres
And now you do too
Because this place we call home is so incredibly connected
That ten trillion things are going on at once
And yet I still can't multitask
In this world where alter egos thrive

Haha...this is third poem I've seen on here that says, "I wrote this while I was bored in Algebra" hahah...lol. Anyhow, I love the way this is written, blunt & forward, and at the same time intense & pretty. I enjoyed reading this. Almost like a story, almost, but still a gorgeous poem :D Love it.

i think this is a really nice poem! I like the flow, and there are some really nice poetic devices as well- the first line is especially nice. I was pulled in instantly. I also really like the idea of searching "for fantasy in a world of non fiction." I wish I was as productive in my math classes!
