The Numbing Years

The Numbing Years

A Poem by Brandon Wile

For no rhyme or reason

I feel lost to change

But without the old me

The new one feels the same

Overthinking every thought

Drowning in the same regrets

Hiding behind the safety

Of a midnight cigarette

The corrupting hours

Became numbing years

Those I can't take back

Are those that I hold dear
