The Open Door

The Open Door

A Poem by Brandon Wile

The knife stuck

In the door

Like the words

Inside your throat

A kiss missing

From her lips

From the words

You never wrote

The last words

Sunk like stones

Swallowed down

These bitter pills

Inside these pages

Pain still lingers

Never far enough

From the open door
