WHAT IS KNOWN?

WHAT IS KNOWN?

A Poem by Inkspire
"

A distant heart, unwilling to write its own story

"
Time dances in circles, a partner to none.
Years slip by, one after another.
But there she is refusing to acknowledge time,
While time partners with everyone.

Life moves on, just like that.
Sadness creeps in, happiness blossoms out.
Yet, she remains untouched,
As friends chase after fairy-tale lives,
Pulled by the gravity of change , to find a string connecting tangled knots.

But she stands still...
Behind a locked door,
With keys nowhere to be found.
While others long to open their door,
She barely cares if it opens at all.

A sea of faces waits to write endless stories,
Yet she only glances at their words,
Her gaze distant, her heart unmoved, not wishing to pen her tales.

They think she’s waiting for that one missing piece,
The final puzzle to complete her picture.
But no...
She squints her eyes,
Realizing the puzzle holds far more missing pieces
Than anyone ever imagined.

I can see some real deep bruises scarred in that poor girl so helpless and sorry for herself trying to get rid of the chains she has been held to. I mean that's how i interpreted this poem (please correct me if I am wrong). Emphasizes more on the little ray of hope that's hidden tight in the girl's heart which is a key highlight. It's a lovely written poem. Nice work!

This one hooked me, had to keep reading to find out who SHE is ... but didn't, I can only guess, and that makes me think! ...which is, of course, the Poet's aim! Well done :)

quite an interesting write. this explores the knowns and unknowns of a person here. yes, the time keeps ticking and years pass by. I like the last stanza - it lends meaning and connects the write. thanks for sharing, enjoyed reading it.

Some great lines and the meaning I get is that we know less than we think. In fact I would agree every year what we thought was true turns out to be false. I might say we really know nothing at all with many pieces of the puzzle we have put in the wrong places. A great write.

Love the first line...that is an attention grabber...wonderful personification.
Sometimes, as Sheryl Crow put it...we become "strangers in our own lives."
nicely penned metaphor.
