Our Lion

Our Lion

A Poem by Inkh(e)art

Bars that look like prisons
Separate us from him
With courage in his heart
But his countenance quite grim

Until our lion noticed
Something most do not
He laughed a mighty roar
Till his face was red and hot

I asked him "what's so funny?"
And my friend turned in disgust

"who is in the cage," he said,
"The animal or us?"

Interesting concept.....very intriguing indeed! Quite philosophical, I should say. The "he said" would sound better at the end of the line, but other than that– well done!
