Same Game

Same Game

A Poem by Inked Superman

See now they are all the same,
All play the same exact game.
Say they are there and won't go,
Is it the truth, well hell no.
There till they get their fill,
Then leave as if not a big deal.
Find the first reason to leave,
Just to let you stay and grieve.
You see now it's always the same
You have seen this same game.
You can't stand to see them go,
But they will, this you know.
Cowards that run from a fight,
They fear weathering the night.
You look around see you're alone,
Standing, being strong as stone.
Feeling the burn of the flame,
Letting yourself take the blame.
You never did anything wrong,
Just stand there and be strong.
They play that game to leave,
Just leaving you there to grieve.
Everyone afraid to let things grow,
So they find whatever reason to go.
Their words within strike a note,
You still read letters they wrote.
You just let your world crash down,
Wondering if this time you drown.
You fall and drop to your knee,
Understand this is where your free.
You find yourself in that pain,
Your heart will cleanse the stain.
Look up into the sky up above,
Let him guide you with his love.
Don't let yourself feel the shame,
They're immature and played the game.
