Fear

Fear

A Poem by Inked Superman

No worse emotion than fear,
Destroys what we hold dear.
Can take away everything good,
Take us from where we stood.
It has the power to make us flee,
Run from things we can't see.
Make us think worse in things,
Forget the happiness it brings.
Makes men go out and bust,
Women lose all of their trust.
Run from where things went,
Hide and settle for content.
The fear makes you believe,
People were meant to leave.
Look for reasons to let them go,
Before your feelings begin to grow.
Look for reasons to cut them out,
Leaving inside a wondering doubt.
Knowing your settling for just good,
When on the brink of great you stood.
I know cause I did the same thing,
Ran soon as I heard that fear sting.
Thought eventually I would forget,
Not that lucky, I live with regret.
Now I see fear destroying all this,
Throwing it all into a dark abyss.
Seen it before, I felt all the hate,
Going to FIGHT, I'm going to wait.
Show you I'm not going to run,
Be here when the fear is done.
Will help you fight with that fear,
Or I'll just wait for you my dear.
